Istanbul is situated in the Marmara region, in the north-west part of Turkey. It has a very important location with the Bosphorus strait between the Black and Marmara Seas and divides Europe from Asia. On its western shore European Istanbul is separated by the Golden Horn (Halic) into Old Istanbul in the south and Beyoğlu in the north.
There are main two bridges between Asia and Europe. The Fatih Sultan is situated between Hisarüstü and Kavacik. It is 1,510 m long with a deck width of 39 m.
And the other is The Bosphorus Bridge, also called the First Bosphorus Bridge is located between Ortaköy and Beylerbeyi . It is 1,510 m long with a deck width of 39 m .
